Veronica Snoj
I'm a multilingual journalist and author.
Russia & Middle East 👀
Words are my world, whether learning new ones or forging them into new sentences. I'm even more delighted when they help me explain my surroundings, thoughts, and mission - as a reporter, blogger, and a scriptwriter for a movie documentary.
Born in Argentina and raised in Slovenia, my passion for languages and understanding different cultures led me to seek opportunities abroad. So far, I worked, studied and lived in Russia, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, and Georgia.
I wrote a book!
(in Slovenian)More precisely, a memoir of my experience covering the first year of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. You can check out the book by clicking on the picture below:
I have a Russian Studies and Art History degree. I've worked as a journalist for media giants such as Reuters and the BBC, as well as a freelance contributor for magazines and local media. I also have experience in non-profit communication and documentary scriptwriting. I also blog whenever I find myself in a country less known to my family and friends.

I know an image can tell more than a thousand words. This is why, alongside writing, I like to take photos.
I also run a YouTube channel about my experiences in the Middle East.
My curiosity and desire to learn new things are endless. Thanks to that, I learned skills that go beyond what I mentioned above. I learned how to code. I built an algorithm to track regional media outlets in Russia. I also created a Twitter bot that raises awareness about female scientists. I also run a sticker shop to raise awareness about neurodiversity!
